Brenda Martin

Brenda Martin is chair of Pele Energy Group. She has played a leading role in South Africa’s policy-driven energy transition since 2007, facilitating and leading civil society, public and private sector participation in both distributed and utility-scale power supply policy and planning. She has worked as an independent adviser on the national energy transition, specialising in political and market analysis, and has served as CEO of the South African Wind Energy Association. Brenda has an MPhil in energy and development from UCT; she has an undergraduate degree in business and has completed post-graduate studies at Wits University, the Cambridge Programme for Sustainability Leadership (now the Institute for Sustainability Leadership) and Harvard Business School.
