It’s beginning to look a lot like holidays are approaching. To get you into the mood, might we suggest this interesting and exciting Methode Ancestrale Sparkling wine. If you’re not familiar with this kind of bubbly, read on to find out what we’re on about…
Our pick this week:
Bruwer Vintners Methode Ancestrale Sparkling Wine
R249,99, Woolworths
Why we love it:
New, exclusive and here just in time for Christmas (as part of their ‘Our Best Ever’ range), meet Woolies’ limited-edition Methode Ancestrale.
Say what? Think of this fancy fella as the cool cousin of Champagne. It’s also known as pétillant naturel, which gets shorted to Pét-Nat by those in the ‘nose’. It’s a little cloudy, a little rustic, and frankly, a bit of a show-off. It has less fizz than your usual bubbles, more texture, and plenty of character thanks to the yeast left doing its thing in the bottle. Still a little unsure? Think bottle-fermented beer meets chic French farmhouse. It’s festive, a touch wild, and absolutely worth bringing to your next gathering… or hoarding for yourself.
