We’ve all got that friend or family member (or perhaps you are this person?) who adore more than the odd sparkly bauble. If they could live life as walking disco balls, they would. When it comes to their homes, their cars, their wardrobes and their approaches to life, these are helluva glitzy humans.

Sometimes people turn their noses up at this urge to splurge on the OTT.
“Oh how garish,” those with exceptional taste mutter in tones of ecru and with clipped sighs of camel.

Well, we’re comfortable with a commitment to the low key, but we fervently believe that there is a large place in this world for excessive diamonds, miles of frills and general luxury and indulgence too.

Does that include a pair of snaky earrings dripping in rubies? You bet. And a beguiling green vintage-style cake that puts us in mind of a dirty martini? Hell, is it the actual shockingly dry martini with a gratuitous stash of olives on the side? A firm yes to both.

Whether it’s a gilt kettle or a skin product that costs almost 20k and makes you feel like a million bucks, we say shine on, you crazy diamond. A lyric to live by for all those who love putting on the glitz…
