What we’re drinking this week: Clase Azul Reposado Tequila

An iconic tequila that’s every bit as impressive as its bottle.

As the song goes, “tequila makes me happy”, and we couldn’t agree more. This week we’re raising a glass to one of our favourites: Clase Azul Reposado. Instantly recognisable in its handcrafted ceramic decanter with signature cobalt-blue brushstrokes, it’s as much a design icon as it is an exceptional tequila. It’s always a treat to spot on a beautifully stocked bar or dining table, but this bottle is more than just good looks. The handcrafted ceramic decanter pays tribute to Mexican artisanship, while the tequila itself more than lives up to its striking presentation.

Our pick this week:

Clase Azul Reposado Tequila

R4,299.99, 750ml, Woolworths

Why we love it:

Inside, you’ll find layers of cooked agave, vanilla and gentle spice with a beautifully silky finish. This is a tequila made for sipping rather than shooting. Enjoy it neat or over a single large ice cube in a tulip-shaped glass or snifter. Pair it with chargrilled beef, spicy chicken, grilled prawns or lobster, or finish with a rich dark chocolate mousse for an indulgent treat.
